Ana has a sister, Julia that was born with cerebral palsy and epilepsy.  Her early years were filled with being toted around to Shriner’s Hospital, neurology appointments, orthopedic appointments, physical and occupational therapy appointments so that her parents could provide her sister with the best that life could offer in the 70’s.  Her sister and family spent hours upon hours stretching Julia’s muscles to reduce the tightness of tone in her right side.  Julia did not handle transition well, so planning events and all the possible outcomes became time consuming and stressing, all so that Julia would be able to cope.  Ana ended up becoming  the “protector” of her sister, as peers are generally not kind to anyone whom is different.  She developed the deepest sense of compassion and a strong desire to enable individuals like her sister to be as independent in life as possible.

There have been many obstacles to over come and the motto of the family became “I can do all things through Christ whom strengthens me. ”Phil 4:13.

Julia learned to drive; she graduated high school and had a son.  In her adult life she has suffered strokes which has decreased her tone in her right side.  It is Ana’s training and experiences that have continued to help Julia live independently in her own home with her son.

Ana has been married to her husband for 15 years and they have two children.  Having children gave Ana a greater understanding of sensory processing and learning in today’s high tech and demanding world.  Ana completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas, a Master’s of Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake.  She has been an occupational therapist for over 11 years and has worked with individuals across the life span.

Ana's past work experience includes: "The Texas State Early Childhood Program," which focuses on children ages 0-3 and their families in their homes, "Our Children’s House of Baylor." focusing on children with traumatic brain injuries, and private pediatric clinics, including Pate Rehab.  She has worked for the Medical Center of Lewisville in both inpatient and outpatient services working patients with hand injuries, orthopedic injuries, cancer and other diagnosis's.  She has worked with the geriatric population in skilled nursing facilities and home health.

Her experiences with these diverse populations have blessed Ana with a unique view on motivation and the individual’s ability to accomplish the desires of their heart.

All things are possible for him who believes Mark 9:23.
